Into the Okavango Camping Safari
Maun - Moremi Game Reserve - Khwai - Maun
Trip Bio:
On this 7-day Botswana adventure, you explore Moremi and Khwai areas – northwest of Maun. Incredible game drives exploring this unique haven, home to some of the world’s most endangered species of large mammals, such as the African wild dog, cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, lion and leopard. It is equally fantastic for bird watching with over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered.
Dense marshy landscapes offer excellent opportunities to find enormous herds of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, and red lechwe along the Khwai River.
Itineraries
Day 1 – Arrival: Maun to Moremi Game Reserve (3nights)
Upon your arrival in Maun, you’ll be met by Tebla and the safari vehicle and then drive into Moremi National Park. Once settled in camp, enjoy a relaxing evening around the campfire and a delicious dinner.
Day 2 & 3 – Full Days in Moremi Game Reserve
Enjoy a light breakfast as the sun rises before heading out on a morning game drive. Most predators are active first thing, so an early start often proves very rewarding. After lunch in camp, afternoons will be spent enjoying a relaxing boat cruise where you can watch the sunset over the okavango delta.
Day 4 – Scenic Transfer from Moremi Game Reserve to Khwai (3 nights)
Today we will take a slow drive through Moremi National Park, driving north towards the Khwai Community Area. The drive through both wilderness areas takes between 3 to 5 hours and you can expect to see a variety of general game, elephants, birdlife.
Day 5 & 6 – Full Days at Khwai .
Mornings will be spent on game drives or nature walks and for the afternoons, enjoy the peace and serenity of the Okavango delta by exploring one of its many waterways in the traditional dugout canoe – the Mokoro. Gliding along on the mokoro you can enjoy little magic moments like jacanas hopping between water lilies, malachite kingfishers and reed frogs. Whilst in Khwai there is also the option for a night drive where you have the chance to spot the nocturnal animals that live under the cover of darkness.
Day 7 – Departure: Travel back to Maun.
After breakfast we transfer back to Maun where we will say our final goodbyes.

10 Days/9 Nights
Day 1 – Arrival: Maun to Moremi National Park (3 nights)
Upon your arrival in Maun, you’ll be met by Tebla and the safari vehicle and then drive into Moremi National Park. Once settled in camp, enjoy a relaxing evening around the campfire and a delicious dinner.
Day 2 & 3 – Full Day Safari -Moremi National Park

Today we will take a slow drive through Moremi National Park, driving north towards the Khwai Community Area. The drive through both wilderness areas takes between 3 to 5 hours and you can expect to see a variety of general game, elephants, birdlife. .
Day 5 & 6 – Full Days in Khwai
Mornings will be spent on game drives or nature walks and for the afternoons, enjoy the peace and serenity of the Okavango delta by exploring one of its many waterways in the traditional dugout canoe – the Mokoro. Gliding along on the mokoro you can enjoy little magic moments like jacanas hopping between water lilies, malachite kingfishers and reed frogs. Whilst in Khwai there is also the option for a night drive where you have the chance to spot the nocturnal animals that live under the cover of darkness.
Day 7 – Scenic Transfer Drive from Khwai to Savute (3 nights)
Today we take a slow drive through the Mababe depression into Chobe National Park to Savute. The drive through the wilderness takes between 3-5 hours and you never know what you will see en route.
Day 8 & 9 – Full Days in Savute
On both days enjoy game drives exploring the vast Savute marsh and grasslands, keeping an eye out for the infamous lions of Savute.
You can also view the Bushman rock paintings, painted by Botswana’s earliest inhabitants, the San Bushmen, over 4000 years ago. Savute also has several pumped water holes that draw many animals seeking to quench their thirst after a hot day and we too can enjoy iconic African sundowners at the Baobab stretch point.
Day10 – Departure: Travel back to Kasane
After breakfast, we take a slow game drive into Kasane where the trip ends and we say our final goodbyes.

Maun – Makgadikgadi - Moremi National Park - Maun
7 Days/6 Nights
Day 1 – Arrival: Maun to Makgadikgadi (3 nights)
Upon your arrival in Maun, you’ll be met by Tebla and the safari vehicle and then transferred to Makgadikgadi. Once settled in camp, enjoy a relaxing evening around the campfire and a delicious dinner.
Day 2 & 3 – Full Days in Makgadikgadi
Both days you’ll wake up before sunrise for a quick, light breakfast then head out for a morning game drive or. You’ll explore the unique landscapes of this area and even more unique wildlife sightings with few other cars and humans. Whilst in the Makgadikgadi there is also the chance to do unique activities found nowhere else in Africa, such as quad biking across the largest salt pan in the world, interacting with habituated meerkats, walking with the bushmen and sleeping out on the salt pan under the milky way. These activities do come at a little extra additional charge – however they are once in a lifetime experiences and we highly recommend them.
Day 4 – Full Travel Day from Makgadikgadi to Moremi National Park (3 nights)
Following an early morning breakfast you take a slow drive from the Makgadikgadi through Maun towards the Moremi National Park.
